WAYNETOWN - Mrs. Bertrell Murdock, 62, of Rt. 1, Waynetown, a former employe of Dellekamp's Department Store and the Golden Rule in Crawfordsville, died Friday afternoon in Culver Hospital after suffering a heart attack Thursday.

She was a past worthy matron and member of Waynetown Eastern Star and was a member of Pleasant Hill United Church of Christ at Wingate.

Mrs. Murdock was graduated from Crawfordsville High School. She also attended Indiana Business College at Indianapolis.

She was born July 10, 1914, a daughter of Claude A. and Tillie Clodfelter Ballard. She married Lester E. Murdock on March 25, 1939, at Wingate.

Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Clark (Jill) Archer of Whiteriver Junction, Vt.; two brothers, Virgil Ballard of Chico, Calif., and Ancil Ballard of Waynetown; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Florence Ballard.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday in Thomas Funeral Home here with the Rev. Robert Boyd officiating. Burial will be in Waynetown Masonic Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 2:30 p.m. Sunday.
